Nanotechnology Fabrics
Do you like this story?
With nanotechnology easy-to-clean effect or more popularly known as the lotus effect can be created in textiles. A company Nano-Tex produces wrinkle-resistant and stain-repellent fabrics by attaching molecular structures to cotton fibres. High-performance functional clothing is an increasingly important feature of the workplace. For example Gore-Tex has developed an antistatic, weather-protective, outerwear fabric. In the case of apparel, nanotechnology shows up in everything from outerwear to innerwear and involves fiddling around with fibers and fabrics and finishes at the molecular level. Apparel that battles bugs, fights the sun's UV rays, tackles icky perspiration stains, repels water and resist wrinkling will be the result of nanotechnology. Jackets wired for MP3 player, sporting a fabric keypad on the sleeve, clothes that tame the human scent of hunters and camisoles that soothe women with aloe vera are also other wonders. Easy-care clothing in stores these days can be credited in part to nanotechnology.
