Electricity by nano application
Do you like this story?
Researchers at the George Institute of Technology havedeveloped fabrics in-laid with nano-structured conductive wires that actuallygenerate and harness power from the static electricity created as clothing rubstogether. These fabrics could generate enough power to run an mp3 player.Another novel electrical generating method includes electrokinetic powergeneration. In this process fluids with charged ions are forced through a nanosizedchannel creating current. This process mimics the electro-chemical processof action potential generation in animal neurons (nerve cells). Although this willnot generate large volumes of power, the technology might be useful in poweringother nano applications such as Lab-on-a-Chip.
