Nanotechnology plays an increasingly important role in the manufacture of a wide range of consumer products which are improved and at a lower cost. New nanotechnology consumer products are coming on the market at the rate of 3-4 per week. The value of the nanotechnology inputs used to produce consumer products worldwide is projected to reach $10.5 billion in 2010, at an average annual growth rate of 9.1%. .
