Smart drugs and nanorobot

The potential medical applications of nanotechnology are by the use of human-engineered devices. These can interact with biological processes in sophisticated ways by the creation of a "smart drug,”. Smart drug is a nano-scale device designed to perform a particular medical task such as destroying cancer cells, cleaning out clogged arteries or to construct needed proteins or mimicking anti-bodies. A tiny drug-delivery particle called a polymer micelle has been used in “nanomedicine” techniques to treat cancer. Researchers at Purdue University have discovered a possible new pathway for anti-tumor drugs to enter cancer cells using the micelles and proposed how to improve the design of the tiny drug-delivery particles.Nanorobot can be visualized to flow inside the blood vessel to find an infected cell and the nanorobot can attach to the cell and project a drug to repair or destroy the infected cell. Nanorobot can be fabricated using carbon nanotubes (CNT) and peptide, limbs (biomolecular motor), on the other hand bionanorobot can be assembled using biomolecules that will have actuation, sensory, and information processing capabilities.
