Nanoscale materials have been successfully used to produce tires with improved skid resistance and reduced abrasion. Materials used in such prototype tires are commercially available. Nanotechnology creates safer tires and longer lasting consumer products including elastomers. Special plastic that automatically return to its original shape after being bent is made of plastic blended with a small percentage of carbon nanotubes. Carbon nanotubes are as hard as diamonds and their tensile strength is 25 times that of most metal alloys. Adding around 3–5 percent carbon nanotubes by volume to plastic radically increases the strength of the plastic.Antireflection coating, catalytic converter, sun protecting glaze, thermoplastic Nanocomposites and automobile paints use nano particles so that dust cannot sit on the surface Water-repellant nano-barrier on windscreens increase visibility by 34% on a rainy night.
