Nanoparticles to destroy air borne pollutants
Do you like this story?
Queensland University of Technology reports that nanoparticles of gold can destroy air-borne pollutants like volatile organic chemical (VOCs), which may often come from new furniture, carpets and paint in good condition. The report further says that the window glasses decorated with gold in the ancient times were in fact worked to purify the the air in the room which can now be explained as the catalytic effect of gold nanoparticles energized by sunlight. It is reported that nano gold particles become active under sunlight to resonate many fold and break up pollutant molecules. The basics of these phenomena are believed to be applied for the manufacture of specialty chemicals at ambient temperature.
